Kathy Kuzava
President
Kathy Kuzava has served the association as President for over 25 years. Kathy discovered her passion for the grocery industry while in high school and, after graduating from Georgia State University with a specialty in Organizational Management, she began her career with Supervalu. She later took the helm at GFIA at the request of some of her independent retailer customers, most of whom are still loyal GFIA members. Kathy is responsible for the overall management of the association, and she plays a key role in representing our membership and the grocery industry before elected officials and regulatory agencies in Georgia.

Kim Peterson
Director of Membership and Operations
Prior to joining GFIA in 2007, Kim Peterson worked for 15 years in various accounting and managerial positions before operating her own consulting firm as she raised her children. Kim graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting. She is responsible for the overall administration and operation of the Association, including financial and tax reporting, human resources, insurance, technology resource management, publications, website and database management.

Michelle Boyer
Director of Meetings and Events
Michelle Boyer has served GFIA since 2009 as the Director of Meetings and Events. Michelle manages all GFIA member events – the annual convention, Spring & Fall golf tournaments, the Holiday Extravaganza and the Legislative Reception. She works diligently to ensure that our sponsors’ products are well represented at every event, and that attendees are able to network with their current and potential customers in a friendly and inviting atmosphere. Specializing in event planning and sales, Michelle worked for Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, Eagles Landing Country Club and the exclusive W Atlanta Midtown before joining GFIA.

Shelia Humberstone
Stone Bridge Consulting
Sheila works as a consultant in tandem with Kathy Kuzava to provide legislative support to our members at the state level. Prior to working with GFIA, Sheila worked with Troutman Sanders for over 10 years. She is a voracious advocate for her clients, and we are pleased to have her on GFIA’s governmental affairs team.

Elizabeth RazoOffice Manager
Elizabeth has interned with GFIA since 2017 as the Silent Auction Coordinator at our Annual Convention and assists during Legislative Session. Before joining GFIA full time, she was a Store Manager at Cricket Wireless. Elizabeth graduated
from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication. She is responsible for assisting with meetings & events, supporting the association members and managing the office. |
