GFIA STAFF

Picture

Kathy Kuzava

President

Kathy Kuzava has served the association as President for over 25 years. Kathy discovered her passion for the grocery industry while in high school and, after graduating from Georgia State University with a specialty in Organizational Management, she began her career with Supervalu. She later took the helm at GFIA at the request of some of her independent retailer customers, most of whom are still loyal GFIA members.  Kathy is responsible for the overall management of the association, and she plays a key role in representing our membership and the grocery industry before elected officials and regulatory agencies in Georgia.

Kim graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting. She is responsible for the overall administration and operation of the Association, including financial and tax reporting, human resources, insurance, technology resource management, publications, website and database management.

Garrett Wiley

 Director of Government Affairs

Garrett Wiley represents GFIA before the Georgia General Assembly, local governments, and regulatory agencies, working alongside Kathy Kuzava and contract lobbyist Sheila Humberstone. Garrett brings a rare blend of political experience and firsthand understanding of the grocery industry to GFIA, having grown up in his family’s grocery store. Before joining GFIA, he served as Vice President of Government Affairs for the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association in addition to holding multiple advocacy and policy roles, working for a former Georgia State Senator, the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, and Jackson Electric Membership Corporation.
