The GFIA Education Foundation would not be successful without the hard work of its Board of Trustees. The Trustees are a diverse group of dedicated individuals who are selected from among GFIA’s membership. Board members have a shared passion for the grocery industry and its people. They each dedicate their time and efforts to ensuring that the Foundation continues to grow and provide valuable educational services to GFIA members. This visionary board has brought the Foundation from its humble beginnings as a small scholarship program to its current position as a full educational resource for GFIA members.
New trustees are selected each year through a highly competitive application process. Interested candidates submit completed applications between December 1 - February 1 each year. Current board members review the applications and vote on candidates at the March meeting. Final voting may extend to the May meeting, if necessary. The selected Trustees are inducted at the annual convention in July, and serve an initial two year term, renewable for one additional two year term.

Before applying for an open position, please keep in mind that serving as a Foundation Trustee comes with time commitments and responsibility. Trustees are required to attend three annual board meetings in March, May and November. They are also required to commit two work days to the Spring Golf Tournament in April and two work days during the annual convention in July. If you would like further information on serving the Foundation as a Trustee, please contact Kathy Kuzava.
