120 Cities and Counties Set November Sunday Sales Referendums

SMYRNA, GA – The Georgia Food Industry Association (GFIA) announced today that 120 cities and counties throughout Georgia are set to hold Sunday sales referendums during the November 8, 2011 general election.  These areas represent approximately 2.5 million Georgians living in all parts of the state.

“We would like to commend the city and county leaders throughout the state who have decided to give the people the right to choose what is best for their communities,” said GFIA President Kathy Kuzava.  “This effort has always been about our industry’s desire to serve our customers.  If the referendums are successful our customers are ones who will benefit.”

In April, Governor Nathan Deal signed Senator John Bulloch’s (R-Ochlocknee) Senate Bill 10 which allows cities and counties to vote on Sunday retail alcohol sales.
