Gov Relations

The GFIA meets with US Senator Johnny Isakson

Legislative and regulatory representation is the Georgia Food Industry Association’s most important service. During Georgia’s legislative session, the GFIA is at the capitol everyday monitoring and analyzing all legislation affecting the food industry. Our staff meets with legislators, attends committee meetings, testifies on important issues and builds coalitions with other affected industries.

Legislators know their local grocers, so grassroots is an effective technique the GFIA uses to lobby our elected officials. These relationships are invaluable to our success at the state capitol.

The grocery industry is heavily regulated, and GFIA’s relationship with the many state and federal agencies is invaluable to our members. Our association is here to answer questions on the EBT and WIC programs, food safety, alcohol and tobacco compliance and other industry issues.

The GFIA is THE voice for Georgia’s Grocery Industry!
